Get to Know Our Podcast Host Morgan Seger

Morgan Seger. She’s the voice behind our podcast, Precision Points, and while she’s usually doing the one interviewing, we wanted to flip the script and do a fun Q&A with Morgan so she can have some spotlight.

Get to know Morgan:

Q: What is your background in agriculture?

A: I grew up on a small livestock farm in NW Ohio and was very active in 4-H. I went to Ohio State majoring in Agricultural Communication and started my career in agronomy and precision ag after graduation. I worked in Seed, CPP and Ag Tech for 10 years.

Q: How did you get involved in the Precision Points podcast?

A: I spent a lot of time on the road throughout my career and became an avid podcast listener. I learned so much from the longer-form audio-only content available in this format. In 2019 I left my full-time job to focus on raising my young family. When the opportunity arose to share Precision Ag information through the Precision Points Podcast I jumped at the idea! I know how valuable podcasts can be, and I hope our listeners gain insights that help them make decisions on their farm.

Q: What’s one of the most memorable or interesting episodes you’ve hosted?

A: It's impossible to pick just one! The industry folks bring such targeted and specific information I find it super valuable. I love the university pieces because the guests we have had on have such a deep understanding of precision ag and how it fits into agronomy as a whole, I always walk away thinking about things differently after those episodes.

Q: Since you always ask your guests... What piece of precision tech are you excited about?

A: For me it's automation. I can see autonomy in farming benefiting large and small acre growers, improving the environment, and providing access to things like data analytics like we have never seen before. It will remove some labor demands and free up time to work on our harder problems. The opportunities are huge.

Q: Outside of interviewing ag experts on the podcast, what’s life for Morgan like?

A: My main job right now is being a mom! I have 4 young kids, ages 7, 5, 3 & 3. I help on our farm and enjoy gardening and bowhunting.
